Final day at the Four Seasons – fortunately we have a 4pm checkout and plan to use it wisely. Rich is itching to snorkel so we drag ourselves to the beach before breakfast. He boldly gets in, swims around for a while and then comes back up on the beach reporting that there is literally “nothing to see” underwater. A bit more lounging on the beach and we are ready to order food.
Room Service breakfast is the plan. We enjoyed it so much last year that we decided to make a repeat. I call to place our order and Rich relaxes with the NY Times while we wait.
Breakfast arrives quickly and it looks wonderful. Rich has ordered yogurt with fruit and nuts and I ordered my usual oatmeal with a side of their house-smoked salmon. Two pots of coffee and a blueberry muffin round out our feast. They set it up so nicely right beside our window to the ocean. It looks amazing.
We complete the lazy decadence by tuning into the Game Show Network and proceed to while away the morning watching old reruns of Jeopardy, Lingo, and Password! There is a 4 hour drive in our future today so we reluctantly pack up and make our way to the front door. Goodbye until next year.
Tampa is the goal for this afternoon. It is a pretty easy drive and I take the wheel for all of it. We easily find our accommodations for the next 5 nights – Emerald Greens Golf Resort. This place has been on my list to stay for the past couple of years and somehow we never made it until now. The resort is set up with 3 nine hole courses and we are scheduled to play everyday. Actually, we will play TPC Tampa Bay tomorrow and then play exclusively at Emerald Greens.
I am very happy when we pull up the the place looks great! Check in is easy and we start unloading the car into our 2 br/2 ba condo. (wish we had some family or friends here to share it with!) Place looks wonderful – I am very impressed with the condo. We are gonna be happy here.
And the BEST part . . .
On our way in today we stopped at the grocery and picked up a rotisserie chicken, salad and a bottle of white wine. Hunkering down for the night is our plan and we do it well.
