Wanamaker and Walmart

Earlier to bed last night, and so better rested this morning.  We were parading right out of bed.   Linda did an especially strenuous “50-50” workout this morning designed by Levi, her personal trainer in AZ who is monitoring while we’re away.  Levi would be pleased.

Out to the PGA Village Wanamaker course again this morning for a 2nd and final round. Linda hooked up her new 3RD hole-in-one towel onto her golf bag in hopes of injecting some mojo into her game.  Some of us are still hoping for our first.

Good mojo?

We met our playing partner Paul at the #1 teebox and hit it off right away with him.  He scorched the first hole (not in a good way) but stayed jovial about it, then ended up playing some very decent golf at times.

Linda’s morning workout took some of her usual edge away, and she ran out of juice on the back half.  My swing was working pretty well the whole round, an always rare event in my mediocre world of golf.  We especially enjoyed that the heat was better this morning, although humidity was still soupy.

Our SUV has been calling for routine maintenance (oil and filter change, tire rotation) for a couple days.  Yesterday we called the local Lexus dealership and was quoted $129.  For comparison, we also called the local Walmart Tire and Lube Express: $59.

Are starfruit any good?

Walmart even had some other stuff we needed, a new iPhone case for me and a FitBit module for Linda (a gadget that Pablo had introduced her to).  Ho-hum lunch at Panera Bread.

Hmm…what do they have here?

Nap time, blog time, Words With Friends time (Janet is a very tough player), letter writing time, afternoon rains, glasses of wine, you get the idea.

For dinner we sauteed the shrimp we bought from Pelican Seafood yesterday.  SO FLAVORFUL!  These are not farm-raised shrimp – they have that wonderful wild flavor.  Expensive and worth every penny.  On the side we enjoyed a butter lettuce salad, steamed broccoli, and more of the summer squash-mushroom saute.  All this and Jeopardy on TV.  Bliss.
